What’s the schedule like?

You can expect to be training 9-10 hours each week during this program (vs. the 6-7 you might be used to for sprint-distance).

With the four weekly group workouts, we’ll focus our efforts on the endurance and mental skills necessary to steadily grow from sprint and Olympic-distance racing to a 70.3. If you’ve done Malibu leading into this program, you absolutely have the fitness necessary to start going toward a 70.3.

It’s going to be a challenge, but the hard is what makes it great!!

  • Week 0 - 9/19 to 9/25 - recovery from Malibu and transition to longer-course racing

  • Week 1 - 9/26 to 10/2 - endurance run focus

  • Week 2 - 10/3 to 10/9 - endurance run focus

  • Week 3 - 10/10 to 10/16 - endurance run focus

  • Week 4 - 10/17 to 10/23 - endurance run focus (potential for Olympic-distance race in La Quinta, same venue as the 70.3)

  • Week 5 - 10/24 to 10/30 - recovery week (potential for Olympic-distance race on Catalina Island)

  • Week 6 - 10/31 to 11/6 - endurance bike focus

  • Week 7 - 11/7 to 11/13 - endurance bike focus

  • Week 8 - 11/14 to 11/20 - endurance bike focus

  • Week 9 - 11/21 to 11/27 - endurance bike focus, begin recovery

  • Week 10 - 11/28 to Race Day - recovery and taper
